Ali Fedotowsky knows a thing or two about The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. Fedotowsky has competed on both and she knows what it takes to be on the show. Despite trying to make an engagement work, she’s learned that the contestants don’t actually find love on the show – they just find compatible matches.
According to a new report, Ali Fedotowsky is now revealing that she doesn’t actually think that Ben Higgins is in love with the final contestants. He may just think that he is. Many of the contestants get caught up in the idea of love, marriage and the show.
“The reason these girls can’t tell him ‘I love you’ is because they aren’t really in love yet,” Ali reveals in her blog for the show, sharing that she feels this way because of the ladies’ hesitations to say “I love you” during the hometown dates. But Ali Fedotowsky does add that she isn’t 100% sure.
Of course, Ali herself has gone through this experience and she knows that the people in the finale “just thought they were” in love at the moment. The true test comes when the show is over, and this is where many of the couples actually fail. Andi Dorfman and Josh Murray ended their engagement abruptly last January, and Chris Soules and Whitney Bischoff followed them in the summer of last year.
“They were in lust!” Ali Fedotowsky points out, adding, “I bet they would say that they didn’t really know the person on the show, and they truly fell in love AFTER the show.” She adds, “And this isn’t meant as a dig at the show. The show is amazing and the feelings they express at the time are real!”
Ali got engaged to Roberto Martinez on season 6 and they later ended their engagement despite trying to make it work. She’s now together with someone else and expecting her first child. As she later reveals, she probably shouldn’t have gotten engaged.
What do you think of Ali Fedotowsky’s theory?
