What is the biggest way that your parents have ever embarrassed you? Baron Brooks of Salt Lake City Utah might have us all beat. The 48-year-old business man was shocked and mortified to discover a full page advertisement was taken out in a newspaper inviting women to interview to be his wife. It was printed by his father, Arthur without his consent. Ugh, I bet he would really rather his dad just stank up the bathroom like a normal person.
Nobody tell his dad about Tinder!
The good news is, that his 78-year-old father put the advertisement in a print newspaper, so chances are not that many people will actually see it. The bad news is that his father is going ahead with interviewing any potential wives that do show up at the Coeur d’Alene Resort in Idaho this Sunday. Talk about an awkward first date.
The ad that Baron did not write states; “I am looking for a wife who is ready, willing and able to have children as soon as possible. I look just like my picture except I now have grey hair.”
Well, at least his mom didn’t try to bang him.
Thanks pops! It turns out his father has been in poor health recently and really wants to have a grandchild. The strange part of this is that Baron lives in Utah, his father lives in Beverly Hills, California, but he took out the wife seeking ad in a small town newspaper in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Apparently the father visited there recently and thought the local ladies would make excellent wife material for his son.
Turns out that because of his political views Baron has had a tough time meeting the right lady. His father included that being politically conservative was a must, saying: “If you voted for Obama or plan to vote for Hillary you are not for me.”
Baron who is Jewish explained to the local news, “He knew I’m a political conservative, OK? And most Jewish girls are quite liberal, and that doesn’t work for me. You probably are going to get more like a Midwest-type values in Idaho – somebody who is who more right of center than you would, say, in Los Angeles.”
At first he was super angry at his father, but now says he is going to go along with it to make his Dad happy. He lovingly describes his dad as a neurotic “Larry David type” adding, “That’s my dad: stumbles into stuff, has a loud mouth, thinks he does the right thing, and then it all blows up in his face.”
Besides, you never know! This could lead to a relationship. So any interested ladies, ready to slide out a few rug rats, the guy is a successful jobs creator looking to settle down late in life. It’s a win- win.
What is the most humiliating thing your mom or dad has ever done to you?
