Kristin Cavallari is nowhere near reality television these days, as she’s married to Jay Cutler from the Chicago Bears, and she’s the mother to three children. She has Camden, 3; Jaxon, 20 months; and Saylor, 2 months, and she’s busy with her own shoe line and writing a book. But these days, Kristin is opening up about her life on-screen and she’s now sharing that everything fans thought was real – isn’t real at all.
According to a new report, Kristin Cavallari is now coming clean about her time on Laguna Beach – a show that started the foundation for The Hills. The Hills is one of MTV’s biggest success stories in reality television. Of course, the idea was that cameras just followed teenagers around in the privileged Laguna Beach area, but it wasn’t as “real” as MTV would like you to believe.

“Laguna Beach was tough,” Cavallari, 29, has revealed about the show that helped define MTV’s reality television success. “We didn’t realize how much we were being manipulated or put in situations that we wouldn’t normally be in.”
As Kristin Cavallari explains, the producers would feed her lines before meeting up with her friends. The producers would actually write out lines of dialogue that she could use in her conversations with her co-stars. “We never got an actual script, but they would text us what to say, so that to people around us, it would just look like we were looking at our phones, and then we’d talk about whatever,” says Cavallari.
None of the other Laguna Beach stars have ever revealed that they were fed lines by producers, but there have been plenty of talks about The Hills and Laguna Beach being fake shows that were indeed scripted. But as Kristin reveals, she quickly learned to separate her real life from MTV and actually enjoyed “playing a villain.”
