Liam Neeson recently made headlines for revealing that he is dating an “incredibly famous” woman. Naturally, fans have been speculating who that lucky lady is. Guesses have ranged from Susan Sarandon to Charlize Theron.
But it’s definitely not Kristen Stewart.
During an interview with the Sunday Independent, the actor, 63, played coy about who he’s dating, seven years after his wife Natasha Richardson’s death.
When asked if he was involved with anyone, Neeson responded: “Yes, but I’d embarrass her if I said her name, she’s incredibly famous. I’ll have to do my best for her. It’s amazing how far a simple bunch of freshly picked flowers will go in a lady’s life, I find.”
Jezebel initially suggested that the actor may be romancing Stewart, 25, because the pair happened to be at Tao night club in New York City on Jan. 5. They left separately. The writer said his speculation was based on “almost nothing” and produced no photo evidence of the duo hanging out together.
The Jezebel writer explained: “Is this unexpected? Sure! But does it make sense given the evidence? Sure! Stewart is both incredibly famous and eligible. Stewart is both incredibly famous and eligible, as she reportedly broke up with her former girlfriend, Alicia Cargile, in the fall.“
Then other media outlets picked up the rumor, includingThe Mirror, and ran with it.
According to Gossip Cop, the rumor is false, and the two “are 100 percent not dating.” In addition, Neeson’s rep called the speculation “stupid.”
The Jezebel writer produced a follow-up article, admitting: “As I said before, [the rumor] was based on ‘almost nothing,’ and as such, it has just been proven wrong.”
