Lisa Vanderpump is a huge fan and supporter of the LGBT community and she is always out on the streets for the gay pride parade in Hollywood. She decided to open up her bar and pub, PUMP, to celebrate the growing gay community in Hollywood. Vanderpump will be the first person to speak fondly of the LGBT community and support members of this community. According to a new tweet, Lisa Vanderpump was therefore pleased when Sam Smith revealed that he was dedicating his Oscar win to the LGBT community.
“Oh Sam Smith…#LGBT thank you …Moving forward one step at a time,” Lisa Vanderpump revealed after hearing Sam’s thank-you speech at the Oscars after winning the song of the year. And in his speech, he dedicated his Oscar to the LGBT community, and this was something that Lisa approved of.
And while Vanderpump is thrilled about his thank-you speech, some people felt that he wasn’t the one who should have won the Oscar. Many felt that Lady Gaga’s performance was much more deserving of the award.
“What about Gaga? Don’t you think that her song had an extremely strong message?” one person wrote, while another added, “Gaga was robbed.” Lady Gaga performed an emotional song at the Oscars with a group of sexual abuse victims. Many people tweeted that they had tears in their eyes from listening to the song and the audience at the Oscars were clearly moved as well.
Vanderpump doesn’t say that Sam Smith was more deserving, and she didn’t say that Gaga wasn’t deserving. She was merely pointing out that she appreciated the shout-out to the LGBT community, and giving them some recognition during the Oscars.
What do you think of Lisa Vanderpump fully supporting Sam Smith during his Oscars win? What did you think of her tweet?
