This Student In 1993 Shockingly Predicted Chicago Cubs 2016 World Series Win

Meet Michael Lee, the new member of the X-Men. Just kidding, he’s a pretty normal guy with a normal life, only he does apparently have the power to predict who will win a World Series almost 20 years before it actually happens. In 1993, Michael Lee’s senior quote was “Chicago Cubs 2016 World Champions. You heard it here first.” That’s dumb, that would NEVER happen! But I think the “You heard it here first” made this prediction especially badass because it came true last night after the Chicago Cubs beat the Cleveland Indians in the 2016 World Series.

Is Michael Lee a god? Or is this just photoshop fakery fooling the internet?

It turns out that Michael Lee did in fact make this prediction confirmed today by Snopes. Michael himself shared the photo in August on Facebook and it spread like wildfire because the Cubs hadn’t won a World Series since 1908 but they were getting closer and closer to making it a reality. We were hesitant to report on the photo then because, well, his prediction hadn’t yet come true. But now here we are, the Cubs are the World Champions and Michael Lee is clearly a damn mutant with mind powers.

But it wasn’t just the one photo shared by Michael that most people were viewing when it came to Michael’s wise prediction. Other people who went to school with Michael caught wind of this viral story and confirmed it to be true, posting photos from their own yearbooks.

The weirdest part however is the fact that Michael Lee wasn’t just some super Chicago Cubs fan who grew up in the Windy City, dreaming of the day the Cubs would win in the next 20 years. Actually he grew up in Mission Viejo, California, making his vision especially freaky. Lee has kept pretty quiet as far as reaching out to the press in giving us more of an insight into why the hell he came to this conclusion in 1993. Maybe it’s because he knows scientists will want to track him down like they did Wolverine!
