It’s pretty much universally accepted at this point that model Kate Upton is one of the most beautiful people in the world. The sexy 23-year-old has covered the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue more than once and her killer body attracts lustful looks from men and envy from women everywhere she goes.
If you’ve ever wondered just how Upton manages to keep her various assets in such great shape, look no further than a video she uploaded to her Instagram over the weekend. The supermodel posted a video of herself working out in the gym before heading off to the Vanity Fair Oscar party Sunday night and it’s not what you might expect from a woman who spends a lot of her time posing on a beach somewhere.
The video shows Upton lifting more than 100 pounds with no problem. Last December, Kate shared another similar video with her trainer Ben Bruno encouraging her from behind the camera. Bruno told The Insider With Yahoo that serious strength training is key to Upton’s success.
“A lot of women are scared to lift heavy weights because they fear they’ll bulk up and look masculine,” Bruno said. “The key though is to focus on getting stronger on the right things.”
The trainer added that Upton “chases strength gains on squats, deadlifts, and Romanian deadlifts… And she can do over 100 pounds for 10 reps. She does hip thrusts with around 200 pounds for 10 reps and pushes a heavy sled weighing close to 400 pounds.”
Bruno added that Upton also avoids the stereotypical crash diet that some of her peers might engage in, preferring to focus on eating protein while limiting her sugar and alcohol intake.
