X-Men: Apocalypse Deleted Scene Shows Off Jean Grey's Archery Skills

With the Digital HD version of X-Men: Apocalypse arriving on September 9, a new deleted scene has surfaced, giving us a glimpse at Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) practicing her archery skills. This scene also features the return of Alex Summers, a.k.a. Havok (Lucas Till), who introduces Professor Xavier (James McAvoy) to his younger brother Scott Summers, a.k.a. Cyclops (Tye Sheridan). As you can see in this scene, Cyclops hasn’t learned to harness his unique abilities quite yet.

Buzzfeed debuted the scene on Facebook, which shows Jean Grey practicing her telekinetic abilities through archery. While she initially aims at the target, she then moves to aim at one of her fellow students, before using her abilities to guide the arrow back to the bullseye. When production was under way in Montreal last year, director Bryan Singer shared a video from the set where he was displaying some archery techniques to Sophie Turner’s Jean Grey, but that scene never made it in the finished product.

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

Special Features on the X-Men: Apocalypse Blu-ray incluWe Deleted/Extended Scenes with Optional Introductions by Bryan Singer, Gag Reel, Wrap Party Video, an hour long documentary entitled X-Men: Apocalypse Unearthed, audio Commentary by Bryan Singer and Simon Kinberg, concept art and a Photo Gallery. We reported in May that most of the scenes featuring Jubilee (Lana Condor) weren’t included in the movie, but there will be one on the Blu-ray and DVD that will show her using her powers. Hopefully we’ll get to see more deleted scenes soon as we get closer to the Digital HD, Blu-ray and DVD release dates.

X-Men: Apocalypse brings the X-Men prequel trilogy to a close, pulling in $155.4 million domestically and $543.3 million worldwide, from a $178 million budget. 20th Century Fox is currently developing The New Mutants, and producer Simon Kinberg recently teased that the next X-Men movie is set in the 1990s, but he wouldn’t say if it’s The New Mutants or a different project. Take a look at this deleted scene from X-Men: Apocalypse below.
