What Is Robert Downey Jr.'s Favorite Infinity War Scene?

There’s no stopping the juggernaut that is Avengers: Infinity War at this point. The movie is poised to be one of the biggest to ever hit theaters in cinematic history. And while we’ve seen two and a half minutes of the movie, that leaves about two hours and thirty minutes still to discover. Yet, in that runtime, amazingly enough, we’ve already seen star Robert Downey Jr.‘s favorite moment. It’s actually in the trailer. The actor explains.

“My favorite shot in the movie has already been seen, and it’s when Thor, who’s just totally gnarled up, turns and goes, ‘Who the hell are you guys?’ and you cut to the Guardians [of the Galaxy]. I’m like sold. If the whole third movie was that scene, we’re fine.”

Yes, Thor teaming up with the Guardians of the Galaxy would make a good movie on its own. But we’re getting 22 main superheroes all on screen together, set against a back drop of more than 72 familiar faces in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That’s not to say the movie still couldn’t bomb. At least not critically. Sure, it’s already generating huge amounts of money in pre-sales. But we shouldn’t get too ahead of ourselves. There have been movies of this magnitude before that didn’t quite deliver on their promise. (Here’s looking at you, Phantom Menace.)

But fans don’t have time to think like that now. It’s all in the build up leading up to April 27th, when this behemoth gets unleashed in theaters worldwide. Until that moment, this is the movie that can do no wrong. Though, it’s latest trailer did fail to break the all-time viewing record, bested by killer clown Pennywise with the IT trailer, and the initial Infinity War teaser that arrived to copious applause last year.

Many suspect that Tony Stark will die in Infinity War. The trailer teases as much. Though, Robert Downey Jr. was spotted on the set of Avengers 4. Tony was seen jogging with Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts. Some believe this was the old bait and switch. Shoot a scene for Infinity War during Avengers 4 production to make everyone think they’re still alive. Why would Tony and Pepper be jogging around Central Park with Thanos causing so much destruction, huh? Think about that for a minute. Or don’t, I don’t care. RDJ goes onto say this about the epic Marvel sequel and how it all came together.

“We’ve all kind of had this whole year to process what’s going on and there’s plenty of time to get into acceptance. Really, honestly, the main thing is I think we really have become this oddball family that genuinely looks after and cares for each other and supports each other… that’s a first for me.”

Torono Sun brings these latest quotes from the actor. It won’t be long now until Infinity War is blowing out the back of your eyeballs and eardrums. And if the world ends before April 27th, we can all fly into the sky knowing we’ve already seen RDJ’s favorite part of the movie.
